This Date

This date changed everything in my life.

The possible trajectory it could have taken, the roads or paths that I might have followed, just like the preceding months. However, those preceding months were like stepping stones, the small pieces of a path that led me to a lovely meadow of wild flowers.

This date changed everything.

It's the day I became a mom.

And every year on this date, I am truly reminded of just how lucky I am.

I am "Mom" to the girl with the biggest heart and the softest soul.

And because of her, I am softer.

She shows me that not all of us have to be burdened by the constraints of societal expectations.

A girl who keeps me feeling young despite my own age because she is so young at heart.

A girl who is happy simply because she is happy.

We can all strive to emulate that.
