Incidental findings.
That's the term for finding a result on a diagnostic test
that was not anticipated or suspected.
A test utilized to rule out or confirm one thing,
that ends up finding another thing.
Incidentally.
When my husband received his CT results on Monday for one thing,
It showed another thing.
An 'incidental finding'.
But as I've witnessed many times in the past,
it's the incidentals that often end up being the big things.
The 'thank gawd that happened so that they could discover this' type of situation.
So yesterday heading to his procedure I knew in my gut that the day would be okay.
That "this" isn't going to be his health issue,
the 'incidental finding' will be.
