WE Love movies in our house. Every genre, every detail, every little thing.
The first movie that I recall ever having a strong impact on me was The Wizard of Oz.
It captures all the feels for me.
In our house, When we put a movie on the screen, we commit. We watch it until the credits roll at the end. WE feel it's respect for all of the artists who put forth their time, passion and commitment to put the entire production together. It's a huge process. Every minuscule detail. It's very impressive.
I'm not going to say that I haven't fallen asleep a time or two, but we always commit. So with that being said, sometimes we take so long trying to chose a movie that we both or all agree on, because we know we are committed to watch it's entirety, that by the time we decide... it's too late at night to watch it all.
So then, without fail, I always open a book to read to the rhythmic sound of the Darth Vader C-Pap beside me.
Tonight we are heading to the Movie Theatre! Is there anything better then a movie on the huge screen?! This excites Me! OverSized Reclining seats, surround sound, a glass of wine. Perfection.
I've always viewed movies as an opportunity to learn, initially as an actor but over the past few years, it's all about the writing for me. The past six months every movie I have watched has been with such intensity, I dissect every little detail. It's all so fascinating. The debates about the production afterwards might be a bit one sided, but believe me, my family is learning (hearing) a lot about plot points, beat sheets and my take on a log line.
So as we head out the door, on this chilly Sunday evening to do something that we so enjoy, I hope that you will do the same. Not necessarily go watch a movie in a theatre, But graciously take some time to do something that you enjoy with your loved ones.
Family is everything.
