Crossing another milestone.
Putting my feature film ~
a dark-ish drama
into the hands
of
someone
that I love.
To hear their criticisms.
To see, feel, hear
their reaction.
I sit here typing...
as
they
sit
there
reading.
IT's an interesting process.
Nerve wracking,
but interesting none the less.
Trying to pretend I'm not paying attention
to their facial expressions.
But thinking ~
facial expressions must mean they're feeling something, right?!?
Hearing their occasional
out loud
chuckle,
guessing to myself
"what page are they reading?"
and
"what scene?".
Have I written something comical
that
I didn't even realize
was actually funny?
I guess I'll find out later,
when we discuss.
After a Table Read of my feature film
in my class
last term...
Table Read being
when you put your heart and soul
(YOUR WRITING)
on the table
and everyone has the opportunity to critique it
and potentially rip it apart.
Potentially Scary? For sure.
Anyhoo,
I had someone tell me
that my feature film
script
was
heavy
and
that
they were triggered.
I'm sorry for that.
But...
at the very least
I know that
the
content
made you feel.
And Isn't that what
the art
of
film
is all about?
